Safe Haven Of Greater WaterburyPositive Energy Electricity Supply LLC Makes Charitable Donation to Safe Haven Of Greater Waterbury

Middlebury, CT. — July 12, 2010 — Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury, a not-for-profit agency that provides support, shelter and services for women who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, has been chosen by Positive Energy Electricity Supply, LLC as the company's "Charity of the Month" for the month of April. Positive Energy President Joseph Ventura was proud to recently present a check for $930.00 to officials from Safe Haven.

Safe Haven provides crisis intervention to any victim of domestic violence or sexual assault, including emergency shelter, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy for both civil and criminal matters, counseling and advocacy for children, information and referral, and community education. Mr. Ventura said the difficult and selfless work done every day by the good people at Safe Haven was the main reason it was chosen by Positive Energy for this donation.

"In the more than two years since Positive Energy first opened our doors in Middlebury, we have made it a priority to be a good and supportive neighbor to not-for-profits and charitable organizations throughout Greater Waterbury. There aren't many neighbors more deserving of our donations, support or respect than Safe Haven, which stands on the front line in helping women who are victims of domestic abuse, as well as their families," Mr. Ventura said. "Safe Haven bravely steps forward and helps women and their children in any way possible. They are heroes in Greater Waterbury, and we are proud to be partners with them."

Originally founded as the Women's Emergency Shelter in 1978, Safe Haven has provided emergency shelter and free comprehensive support services to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault for 33 years. Safe Haven is committed to ending violence and sexual assault by changing the social conditions and beliefs that perpetuate violence against women and children. Safe Haven serves the towns of Bethlehem, Cheshire, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Prospect, Southbury, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, and Woodbury.
